The State Department for lands is a central player in Kenya’s socio-economic development plan. Land is one of the key enablers of the ‘Big 4 Agenda’ and the Vision 2030. Land is acknowledged as a key determinant of social, economic and political transformation.
Although Kenya has had different regimes of land management since independence, it is only in 2019 that a definitive land policy was formulated.

Lands CS Zachariah Njeru and PS Generali Nixon Korir today issued 1200 title deeds to residents of Maweni in Mtwapa, Kilifi County. They urged the beneficiaries to avoid falling into the trap of selling their land and returning to being landless again.

Cabinet Secretary Zachariah Njeru and PS Generali Nixon Korir today led Ministry of Lands staff and the National Lands Commission in a session with MPs in Mombasa to brainstorm on the National Rating Bill which is designed to boost revenue collection for County Governments.
