Training on Stamp Duty Module Closes with Promise to Meet Revenue Targets

MALINDI, August 29, 2025

A training program aimed at enhancing accountability in the collection of land stamp duty concluded today, with an assurance that the new skills will help Lands and Physical Planning officers meet their revenue targets.

The five-day workshop in Malindi brought together valuers and registrars from the coastal counties of Kilifi, Mombasa, Kwale, Tana River, Lamu, and Taita Taveta.

The National Stamp Duty Module (NSDM) is part of the Ardhisasa system. It allows people to pay stamp duty for property transactions digitally through Ardhipay. The goal is to make the process faster, more accurate, and transparent.

Lands Secretary, Sarah Maina, said the training was designed to help seal loopholes in stamp duty collection.

“After this workshop, we are determined to surpass our stamp duty collection target for this financial year,” said Maina.

Monica Obongo, Director of the National Land Information Management System (NLIMS), noted that training on the new National Stamp Duty Module will continue in Isiolo, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Nakuru, Kajiado, Makueni, and Nyeri.
