Land officers undergo enhanced training on sectional properties law and regulations
NAIVASHA, May 27, 2025
Officers working with the State Department for Lands with roles touching on registration, surveying, administration and valuation, are currently undergoing enhanced capacity building on the Sectional Properties Act 2020 and its regulations.
The training is focused on ensuring proper registration of sectional units and security of tenure for the purchasers of units under the Affordable Housing Programme.
The training, which is being held in Naivasha in partnership with the World Bank, brings together officers from across the country drawn from the Departments of Registration, Surveying, Land Administration and Valuation.
The State Department aims to build the capacity of the officers to ensure efficient and effective registration of sectional units.
Secretary Lands Ms Sarah Maina said the training will improve service delivery and give every unit owner security of tenure.
Ms Maina, who spoke at the opening of the training, asked the officers to be diligent in their duties and be better ambassadors of the State Department.
The Department's Head of Legal Mr. Tom Abuta today led the training on the Legal and Regulatory Framework.
