Lodging & Withdrawal of Cautions

Description: Lodging and withdrawal of cautions is a legal process that allows individuals or entities to protect their interest in a piece of land by placing a restriction - known as a Caution - on the property.

A Caution prevents any dealings, such as transfers or charges, from proceeding without the consent of the cautioner. It acts as a warning to third parties and ensures that the cautioner’s claim or interest is considered before any transaction is completed.

Conversely, withdrawal of a caution removes this restriction, allowing normal dealings to resume.

This mechanism is essential for safeguarding disputed or vulnerable property interests.

Requirements: Duly filled caution form, copy of ID/passport, PIN certificate, 2 passport-size photos, proof of claim (for lodging).

Charges: Kshs. 1,000
