New Lease of Life for Kericho Town After Government Resolves Decades-Long Dispute Blocking Expansion

‎It is all roads clear for the expansion of Kericho Town and its journey towards City status after the Government resolved the Chelimo land dispute.
‎Lands Principal Secretary Hon. Generali Nixon Korir today delivered title deeds for the resettlement of the squatters in Chelimo who had remained an obstacle to the town's growth for many decades.
‎PS Korir, who was joined by Kericho Governor Dr. Erick Mutai, addressed a public baraza at Chelimo where he informed the public that the quick resolution of the issue was part of President William Ruto's intention to unlock the full potential of Kericho Town.

‎"I am happy to say that the Chelimo land dispute is finally resolved. I have come with all the title deeds for the resettlement of the people who lived on the land that was originally earmarked for the expansion of this town," said the PS.
‎He further noted that the Government has also waived several fees and charges to facilitate the process to clear the way for the town's growth.
 
The Kericho Governor thanked the President and the leadership of the State Department for Lands and Physical Planning for the dedication they displayed in resolving the matter.

‎Governor Dr. Mutai said Kericho's journey to City status is now unstoppable.
‎All the beneficiaries have been directed to go the lands offices in Kericho to pick up their titles after presenting all required documents.
