CS Alice Wahome Opens New Land Registry in Nkubu, South Imenti

Nkubu, Meru County, September 11, 2024

Lands CS, Hon. Alice Wahome, together with her Principal Secretary, Hon. Generali Nixon Korir, this morning presided over the official opening of the Nkubu Land Registry in South Imenti. They were joined by Members of Parliament and MCAs at the ceremony where the CS also issued title deeds.

The CS warned land officers to stay focused and desist from taking bribes from Kenyans seeking land services. She called on all Members of Parliament to work together and unite Kenyans, emphasizing that the broad-based government will serve all Kenyans.

“We have no reason not to deliver on what the Government promised Kenyans,” said CS Wahome.

Lands and Physical Planning PS, Hon. Generali Nixon Korir, expressed his satisfaction with the opening of the Nkubu Land Registry, noting that residents will now be able to access the services they need with ease.

“I urge all County Executive Committee members to work closely with principals to take advantage of the ongoing National School Titling Programme and register their institutions, so that we can put an end to public land grabbing once and for all,” said PS Korir.

The CS and PS are set to issue more than 19, 000 title deeds in Tharaka Nithi later today as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline land ownership and improve access to land documentation across the country.

Other leaders who accompanied the CS were Forestry PS, Gitonga Mugambi, South Imenti MP, Shadrack Mwiti, Igembe North MP Julius Taitumu, Igembe South MP John Paul, Buuri MP Mugambi Rindikiri, Kitui Rural MP David Mwalika and MCAs.
