Lands Principal Secretary Nixon Korir appeared before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Implementation, chaired by Budalang’i MP Raphael Wanjala, to address various land-related issues.

He informed the committee that the State Department for Lands and Physical Planning is leading efforts to fight land fraud and dismantle organized cartels operating in the land sector. The Department is working closely with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and other security agencies to curb the criminal networks behind illegal land dealings.
Korir reported that digitization has significantly reduced opportunities for fraud, especially in Nairobi, where land records have already been digitized. He noted that the Department is focused on expanding this initiative across the country to improve transparency and accountability in land management.
The meeting also reviewed the implementation status of various land-related reports and was attended by MPs Mark Mwenje, Johnson Naicca, Hilary Kosgei, Siyoi Lilian, Julius Taitumu, Kakuta Maimai, Rael Kasiwai, and Komingoi Kibet.
