Mr. Weldon Maritim is the Director of Surveys, a position he has held since 2023. Prior to his appointment, he served as the Acting Director of Surveys from 2021 to 2023. His experience in the field is extensive, with notable roles such as Assistant Director in charge of the Cadastral Division from 2017 to 2020. He also held the key position of Authentication Officer, responsible for authenticating survey records at the Survey of Kenya Headquarters in Ruaraka, and later served in the Quality Control of Survey Records in the same office.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Maritim briefly worked as a Regional Surveyor Officer in Garissa, North Eastern Kenya. He was also the Head of Survey in Malindi and Magarini Districts, following his service as a Land Surveyor 1 at the Malindi Survey Office. His foundational experience includes 9 years of service as a Government Land Surveyor in the Malindi District.

Mr. Maritim’s academic credentials are equally impressive. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Geospatial and Space Technology at the University of Nairobi. He also holds an MSc in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Nairobi (2014-2016) and has completed an undergraduate degree in Land Surveying at the same institution.

His extensive expertise and academic background make him a key leader in the field of surveying in Kenya.
