The State Department for Lands and Physical Planning is ready to launch Ardhisasa in Murang’a County.
Speaking today at the Murang’a Land Registry after assessing the progress of the digitization process in Murang’a, Lands PS Generali Nixon Korir said that the Ministry is ready to launch Ardhisasa system in the County in a few days time.
“Out of 285,000 parcels that we are working on in Murang’a, I can confirm to you that 90 percent of the documents are already digitized ,” said PS Korir adding that the rest of the records are being scrutinized for accuracy before they are digitized.
PS Korir said the State Department will establish a customer care center to help people especially the elderly to open Ardhisasa accounts.
He said the Ministry will work closely with the County Government of Murang’a in sensitizing the public on the benefits of digitization in enhancing the security of land tenure.
He said the establishment of the Ardhisasa system was aimed at dealing with corruption and cartels in the management of land records.
The PS said the department is working closely with the police and other anti corruption bodies in dealing with corrupt individuals within the public service.
PS Korir, who was accompanied by senior officials from the department, said CS Alice Wahome will be in Murang’a soon to launch the Ardhisasa system in Muranga.
“We are excited that in Murang’a County, the remaining 40,000 parcels will be worked on in the next two weeks with the rest of the parcels being already in the system,” said the PS.
He noted that digitization is ongoing in Isiolo and teams will be dispatched to Mombasa, Lamu and Tana River to prepare for the exercise.
